It’s all about responsiveness in the logistics industry as clear instructions have to be made.
Kuehne+Nagel, an international forwarding provider, has adopted Polycom’s HD VoIP solution, with an aim of improving voice communications between international offices. Hence communications among mobile users have become more flexible.
According to Michael Brueggemann, Senior Vice President, IT Asia Pacific, Kuehne & Nagel, high quality voice is crucial to their business because repeating messages creates pressure among the staff. This occurs especially during international calls when clarity was always compromised. Michael also thinks that VoIP is the key development trend in the future communication. The company’s VoIP project began last year.
K+N evaluated four suppliers including Deltapath and they found that the HD voice quality and clarity levels were higher with Polycom. Michael added that English is not the mother tongue for many regions under his supervision including Afghanistan, Hong Kong and New Zealand and therefore quality voice communication is very important.
David Liu from Deltapath mentioned that the Deltapath frSIP T256-S Unified Communication Platform was implemented.
In the article, Michael also mentioned other reasons of adopting Polycom/Deltapath’s VoIP including simplicity in use, for example a lot of settings can be done in the browser. In addition, K+N also has a large office in Singapore where the voice solution was also upgraded. The monthly saving between HK & Singapore is around HK$30,000, which doesn’t include the savings between Singapore and other countries.
