Purchasing more than 200 IP phones
Nam Chan, Network and Systems Manager, Asia Pacific, Fresenius, says that the company’s phone system is more than 10 years old and cannot be upgraded anymore. As the business is extending, Fresenius had to switch to a new system earlier this year, and they chose Polycom, purchasing over 200 SoundPoint IP 450 and IP 650 phones and six VVX1500 phones.
Saving up to 80% maintenance costs every year
Nam says they chose Polycom as they value system stability and audio clarity most, and Polycom HD Voice has the technology for that. With the new system, each staff can have their own teleconference room, saving the company time and costs in renting conference rooms and other telecommunication costs by up to 80%. The higher flexibility of the system can also raise work efficiency.
Diversified application methods
Installation of the new system took three days, and was done by Deltapath. David Liu, Founder and CEO, Deltapath, says, “A management platform software that connects all the phones had been designed to meet the needs of the different departments. There is a function that can automatically pair up any phone number around the world and also show the other party’s online status.” The phone records can also be saved so that users can listen to messages, make calls, or join videoconferences anytime they like.
Chris Taylor, Regional Director, Korea, ASEAN, Hong Kong and Taiwan, Polycom Asia Pacific, says, “Polycom’s UC Platform uses open standards, and is interoperable with other systems, allowing users to join videoconferences with their computer notebooks and tablets. The system will be extended to tablets running on Android next year.”
